SCULPTiNG WiTH PAPER
SATURDAY 11 APRiL 10AM - 12pm
Service Description
RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 7-14 In this 2-hour workshop, young artists will transform flat paper into bold, sculptural forms inspired by the imaginative work of French artist, Jean Dubuffet (1901 – 1985). Using layers of cut paper and card, strong outlines, and graphic patterns, children will explore how simple shapes can grow into expressive 3D artworks. After learning about the work of Jean Dubuffet, participants will experiment with overlapping layers, positive and negative space, and line work to build a freestanding sculpture that feels both abstract and full of character. Perfect for creative kids who love cutting, drawing, and building, this workshop encourages confidence, problem-solving, and joyful experimentation. Each child will take home a striking paper sculpture and a deeper appreciation for how artists turn everyday materials into extraordinary art. A protective apron will be provided and all care will be taken to avoid damage to clothing. A toilet and bathroom is easily accessible to students. The studio is located in the Armadale Hills area, approximately 45 minutes from Perth’s city centre. For privacy reasons, the exact address will be provided after your payment is received. You can learn more about me and the studio by visiting the ‘CASE HISTORY’ (ABOUT ME) page on the website. Please note - this class has been designed to be fun and achievable. Parents are not required to attend.
