THE STUDiO

The Pencil Case offers art classes and workshops for children aged 4 years to 16 years, as well as adult classes for beginners and those willing to "brush up" on their skills. You can also book an arty party for a special occasion!

I have designed my studio space to be as much a piece of art as the work created there, so I'm sure you'll enjoy visiting - or I can provide mobile workshops for those who can't make it.

My intent for each class or workshop is not about templates or students creating one of twenty identical artworks created using step-by-step instruction, but for students to really learn practical, transferrable skills across a range of media, to have fun and feel confident to make mistakes, explore and create artwork they are proud of. I want all students to be able to apply their knowledge, skills and ideas to other artistic practices and to apply their creativity to all aspects of life.

ABOUT ME

Anne Farrell is a qualified artist and art educator with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) and a Diploma of Education (Primary Teaching).

I have over 15 years experience teaching in schools across Perth, working with children aged 5 to 13 years of age. I have also volunteered as a teacher in remote community schools in India.

For 10 years I ran the popular blog 'Use Your Coloured Pencils', where I shared my art lessons and the results of working with hundreds of students over the years.

You can check out whatever I've been working on lately when you are at the studio, or check out my instagram: annefarrellart.instagram.com
